3-4 APRIL 2021 / BDGA AND QUAICH TOUR / FANMORE, ISLE OF MULL
Welcome to the Isle of Mull Classic Disc Golf Tournament
First designed over a bottle of whisky in 1981, the Fanmore Disc Golf Course winds it's way up and down local jam and chutney maker Gremlin's highland croft. The course has two layouts - blue (short) and white (long). Both include clifftop basket locations, huge elevation changes and magical mountain, island and sea views. It is arguably one of the most breathtaking places to watch a disc fly in the world.
Fanmore, with the help of TD Charlie Mead, Gremlin and many others, has hosted 25 annual disc golf tournaments, the first being in 1992. The latest was in 2017 when Charlie announced he was stepping down as TD and it would be the last Mull Classic. No one could really handle the fact there would be no more tournaments on Mull and between them, Chris O'Brien, James Luton and Simon Luard decided to bring back the event. Enter 2020. The plan for the return is to keep a lot of the old format and traditions, get the course looking in top shape and introduce some fun new elements.
The Isle of Mull Classic is one of the UK's original disc golf events and has a great tradition of warm welcomes, friendly competition, stunning disc golf terrain and extreme weather conditions. Things happen on Mull that don't happen anywhere else. Charlie has done an incredible job running the tournament and we're looking forward to continuing this legacy.
Please check out the "Book of Mull" for some young old faces and some classic Mull history.
