/ 2020 information

Simon Luard, Chris O'Brien, James Luton and Gremlin at the Fanmore Disc Golf Course are proud to bring you the return of the Isle of Mull Classic on the Easter weekend of 2020, 3-4th April 2021.

After a few years away we feel it's time for the British Disc Golf scene to a spiritual home for many of us. This year will be the 26th tournament to be held on the Isle of Mull and it is truly steeped in tradition. The course was first designed in 1981 and hosted it's first tournament in 1992. Since then we have seen the course develop from using snow posts to installing baskets, battling through the foot and mouth scare in 2001 and seeing hundreds of players come and go from all over the globe. We hope that number will continue to grow this year!

Fanmore is set on steep croft land overlooking mountains and ocean. There are very few trees but the wind and elevation provide a stern challenge on this truly unique course. This is a great opportunity to visit one of Scotland’s most beautiful islands - to experience the hospitality of locals, their food, drink and generosity as well as play a load of Disc Golf.

The tournament will feature both the blue and white courses, which can be previewed here.

This event is at the heart of many families so we would also like to encourage you to bring the family along! There is plenty to do on Mull aside from throwing frisbees in the rain!

Course location: Fanmore, Isle of Mull, PA73 6LX, Scotland.

PDGA C-Tier Event. On the BDGA Tour and Quiach Tour

Gremlin will also be holding the traditional raffle in aid of the local Primary School!

We're buddying up with the Burnlaw Spring Snowbow the preceding weekend (4-5th April) to make this another 'Northern Flights' special – a chance to play two of the best loved northern events on back to back weekends. So on Monday 6th you can stay at Burnlaw for an extra day or head up the A1 to play the stunning course at Foxlake, Dunbar.  On 7th Glasgow our friends at Glasgow Disc Golf Club have offered to host 'ransom doubles' at Springburn Park and Ruchill Park.

There's a £5 reduction if you attend both Mull and the Burnlaw. This rebate will be made on arrival to the Mull event.

Tournament HQ will be on Jonny’s Croft with access to a toilet and a marquee for shelter with tea and coffee, free all day. Lunch will be provided by Luardos veggie and meat burritos.
Drinking water will be available on the Course.
Prepare for all weathers – but definitely bring walking boots!

For food off-site/evening meals you could try the Am Birlin - a great fish restaurant on the Calgary-Dervaig road and the Bellachroy in Dervaig has a very good menu as well.

There are many more options in Tobermory and Salen has a Mediterranian Restaurant.

The Bunk House in Dervaig has self-catering facilities.

  • Camping on the course at Fanmore is welcome - with unbelievable views! £5 per person per night.

  • Free camping is permitted at the beautiful Calgary Bay.

  • We are currently trying to sort out the Dervaig bunkhouse with bunk beds at £15 per night (TBC) and hopefully the sports hall floor which could be a very cheap option. Look to our Facebook page for updates on this. Showers and kitchen available.

  • Scottish Youth Hostel in Tobermory, Main Street, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, PA75 6NU. Advance booking essential. Beautiful setting, close to all facilities but hour from course.

  • Campsite (with basic facilities), within walking distance of Tobermory.

  • Plenty of other B&B and self-catering accommodation options to search for online.
